GTAP undertakes focused studies on global economic issues in partnership with national and
international organizations.
GTAP/EPA Project
Towards An Integrated Data Base for Assessing the Potential for Greenhouse
Gas Mitigation
This project is sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA). The main goal is
to develop a land-use and greenhouse gases emissions data base for use in
a computable general equilibrium framework. This project runs from 2002 to
2005.
Extending the GTAP Data Base for Analysis of Climate Change
This project was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy
(DOE),
and was completed in 2001. The aim of this DOE project was to improve the
analytical basis for the development of policies relating to carbon restrictions
under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
(UNFCCC).
This projects aims at extending GTAP standard modeling framework to incorporate
long-run dynamic behavior. A dynamic model may be used to determine how changes
in policy, technology, population and factor endowments can effect the path of
economies over time. This is a continuing project, which builds on previous
efforts in
GDyn, and a number of
dynamic GTAP
applications.
