Ottmar Edenhofer is one of the world’s leading experts on the economics of climate change. He is designated director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and Professor for the Economics of Climate Change at the Technical University Berlin. Moreover, he is founding director of the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) as well as adviser to the World Bank regarding issues of economic growth and climate protection. Furthermore, he is a member of the German National Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina) and member of the National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech). Ottmar Edenhofer has published numerous articles in leading peer-reviewed journals (e.g. Science, PNAS, Nature Climate Change) and high-ranking disciplinary journals (e.g. Macroeconomic Dynamics, International Tax and Public Finance, Environmental Research Letters, Climatic Change) and authored various books. From 2008 to 2015 Ottmar Edenhofer served as Co-Chair of Working Group III of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), shaping the Fifth Assessment Report on Climate Change Mitigation substantially.

Sergei Guriev
Chief Economist, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
Sergei Guriev joined EBRD in 2016 after running the New Economic School in Moscow in 2004-13 and serving as a tenured professor of economics at Sciences Po, Paris in 2013-16. As the EBRD’s Chief Economist, Sergei Guriev is responsible for advising the President and other senior members of the Bank’s management team on economic issues of strategic or operational relevance pertaining to the EBRD region. Dr. Guriev’s research interests include political economics, labor mobility, corporate governance and contract theory. Dr. Guriev has published in international refereed journals including American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of European Economic Association, Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Perspectives and American Political Science Review. He has been a board member of Sberbank, E.ON Russia, Alfa-Strakhovanie Insurance Company, Russia Venture Company, Russian Home Mortgage Lending Agency, Russian Agricultural Bank, and the Dynasty Foundation. In 2006, he was selected a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. In 2009-11, he was included in the top 100 of the President of Russia’s Cadre Reserve. In 2016-17 he has served as the President of the Society for Institutional and Organizational Economics. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the International Economic Association and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research, London.

Swati Dhingra
Associate Professor, Department of Economics, London School of Economics
Swati Dhingra is an Associate Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics, researching globalisation and industrial policy. She is co-author of the recent “Life after Brexit” report published by the LSE’s Centre for Economic Performance, which looked at the UK’s options outside of the EU. She is also associate editor of the Journal of International Economics. Swati was awarded the FIW Young Economist Award and the Chair Jacquemin Award by the European Trade Study Group for her work on firms and globalization. Swati's work has informed bodies such as the Parliamentary International Trade Committee, CBI, Treasury, Social Enterprise UK, Credit Suisse and Sunderland City Council, and has featured in the media, including outlets such as the BBC, Foreign Affairs, Financial Times, The Economist, The Times and Business Standard.
