GTAP Network: GTAP Teaching and Research Associates

Purpose

GTAP designates individuals as "GTAP Teaching and Research Associates" to facilitate their sustained contributions to GTAP and their function as ambassadors for the GTAP Network. This designation is a voluntary, unpaid role, unless otherwise specified. Associates do not hold any official standing with Purdue University. Any sensitive or unpublished information encountered in this role should be treated as confidential. Associates are expected to follow ethical standards in research and professional behavior. The Center for Global Trade Analysis reserves the right to modify these guidelines and appointment criteria as needed to support GTAP’s missions and strategic priorities.

Appointment Terms
  • Appointments are made for three-year terms
  • Terms begin when approved by the Director of GTAP and conclude on December 31 of the third year
  • Appointments may be renewed at the discretion of the Director of GTAP
Eligibility

Members of the GTAP Network who (i) desire to highlight their relationship with GTAP, (ii) expect to continue to make sustained contributions to the mission of GTAP, and (iii) are willing to serve as ambassadors for the GTAP Network may be appointed as GTAP Teaching and Research Associates. Contributions expected of GTAP Associates include one or more of the following:

  • GTAP-related research and publications
  • Development or improvement of GTAP Data Bases, models, or tools
  • Instruction in GTAP-U courses
  • Significant leadership or involvement in GTAP events
  • Service to GTAP working groups, committees, and/or collaborative initiatives
  • Promotion of the responsible use and development of GTAP resources
  • Fostering of collaboration and knowledge exchange
Appointment and Renewal Process
  • Appointments are made by the Director of GTAP
  • Appointments are reviewed every three years
  • Renewal is based on continued engagement and meaningful contributions
  • Appointments may be terminated and renewals declined at the discretion of the Director
Recognition

GTAP Teaching and Research Associates:

  • May represent their affiliation as a "GTAP Teaching Associate", "GTAP Research Associate", or "GTAP Teaching and Research Associate" during their active appointment
  • May be invited to participate in initiatives, collaborations, and strategic activities, as appropriate
