GTAP Data Bases: GTAP 12 Data Base Issues

If you have encountered an issue with the GTAP 12 Data Base which you would like addressed, please email a detailed account to the Data Team. Below is an ongoing list of issues reported regarding GTAP 12.

Current Known Issues

  • EU domestic support for the 2019 and 2023 reference years has been incorporated, because these were not available at the time of release, previous release was based on 2017 rates.
  • Estimates of air pollution have been updated using historical growth rates for 2023, previous release use 2022 information for lack of updated inputs.
  • Terrie Walmsley reported that the order of foreign income payments in the newly created header VBPF was reversed. This has been fixed in version 12a.
  • James Gieseke reported that the SUBPAR parameter contained very small values for many commodities. This issue was corrected in version 12a.
  • Janine Pelikan reported selected tariffs were overstated in 2023. The affected tariffs relate to 7 sectors: vegetables and fruits (v_f), other animal products (oap), other food products (ofd), other mining (oxt), wearing apparel (wap), other machinery and equipment (ome), and fabricated metal products (fmp). A bug in the pre-processing of 2019 and 2023 data was identified and corrected in version 12a.
  • Alessandro Antimiani shared updated trade elasticities for services.
