Biography
Curriculum Vitae - Federico Inchausti-Sintes

I have coped with a wide variety of methodologies during my years of thesis; and CGE modeling is one of them. More precisely, I developed a recursive-dynamic CGE model for Spain in order to quantify the impact of the tourism on the employment and the economic growth. Towards this aim, I disentangled all goods and services of the IOT in tourism and non-tourism categories using data from the TSA. Finally, I built the Social accounting Matrix (SAM) of Spain. I programmed this chapter on GAMS and MPSGE. The paper version of this chapter is currently under revision (second revision) in the first journal in tourism.

On the other hand, I also acquired good command in Econometrics and thus, I am capable of addressing advanced econometrics models such as structural equations, simultaneous equations or random parameter logit. I have good command in specific econometric packages such as STATA, LIMDEP or R. One of the papers associated with these chapters has been already accepted in Tourism Management. The other paper is currently under revision in Annals of Tourism Research.

Regarding my labour experience, I participated as research assistant in two projects, one of them at national level. Additionally, I also participated during two years as researcher in the elaboration of the annual report of The Social and Economic Council of Canary Islands. Additionally, I taught class of economics and financial mathematics at university level as private tutor in an academy. Currently, I work as economic consultant for the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB)

I am especially interested in macroeconomic, tourism, economic growth, sustainable development or monetary policy. I am currently working on new researches whose main titles are as follows:
• The impact of low-cost travelers in a tourism-led country (dynamic cge model)
• Carrying capacity in tourism destination and its consequences in the economic growth (dynamic cge model)
• The Balassa-Samuelson effect in tourism countries (econometric)
• Productivity gains and income elasticity in small tourism island. A dynamic CGE approach
