Biography
Kayenat graduated with a PhD from the Department of Agricultural Economics in 2019, and is currently consulting with the World Bank HQ during her post-graduation training period. Her research interests are in food security, agriculture, climate change, and labor migration. Her PhD focused on food security in Niger. During her PhD years she was a graduate staff in the Center for Global Trade Analysis.
She has over six years of professional experience in the development and humanitarian sector of Bangladesh and briefly in Cambodia and Afghanistan. Before starting her Ph.D. in Purdue University, she was working as a Food Security and Market analyst in the UN World Food Programme. She has a BBA degree focusing on marketing and finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and a Master's in Economics from York University, Toronto
