Biography
Sébastien Dessus currently works at the International Finance Corporation, as manager of the Africa Economics department. His current research interests revolve around the identification of policy reforms needed to mobilize private sector solutions to development challenges. He previously worked at the World Bank as economist in charge of policy dialogue and related investment programs for West Bank & Gaza, Lebanon, Ghana, Sahelian and Southern African countries and in the Chief Economist’s office; and at the OECD as researcher on programs focused on trade, growth, climate change and the political economy of structural adjustments. Sebastien holds a PhD from Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne University and published extensively on trade, growth, environment, political economy, poverty, labour markets and general equilibrium modelling.
