Alan A. Powell Award
|
Each year at the GTAP Advisory Board meeting we present an award to one of the members of the Board in recognition of outstanding service. This award is in honor of one of the Founding Members of the Advisory Board, and the intellectual grandfather of GTAP - Alan A. Powell.
The 2012 recipient of the Alan A. Powell Award is Hans Grinsted Jensen. Hans has been assisting with the EU domestic support data in the GTAP Data Base for many years. This data is one of the more crucial aspects for our European members interested in modeling the implications of changes to EU policy. Hans spends a substantial amount of time collaborating with the Center for Global Trade Analysis' Data Team working on this data, supplying detailed information, checking how it was incorporated into GTAP, even going so far as to investigate tab files, and in general just making sure it is correct and providing as much information to users as possible so they can undertake quality policy analysis. The Center is very grateful to him for his continuous support and help with this data. In addition to his support of the GTAP Data Base, Hans and the Institute of Food and Resource Economics are also hosting the 2012 Short Course in Dynamic Global Trade Analysis - something he has wanted to do since participating in the course himself in 2008.
Congratulations, Hans, and thank you for your many contributions to GTAP!
