"The Economic Effects of the Bilateral Sectoral Agreements and the Swiss EU Membership"

Abstract
This paper investigates the economic effects of a possible Swiss EU-Membership as well as the completed Bilateral Sectoral Agreements between the EU and Switzerland using MULTISWISS, a multi-county computable general equilibrium model. The simulations show that the welfare gains for Switzerland (and the EU) in both scenarios will be small but posi-tive in the long run. They also indicate that Switzerland, from an economic point of view, should pursue the EU membership.
