"Sustainability Challenges and Opportunities of Power-to-Liquid Fuels Authors and their affiliations"
by Lewis, Kristin C., Jon A. Obnamia, Florian Allroggen, Farzad Taheripour and Robert Malina

Abstract
Power-to-liquid fuels are considered by many proponents to be a significant improvement in sustainable aviation fuel alternatives to petroleum. Previous papers in this session focused on the potential carbon benefit and land use impacts of these fuels. The scale at which these fuels would be needed to replace a significant portion of fossil-based fuels may lead to additional sustainability challenges that must be addressed to avoid unintended consequences of PtL deployment.
