"Chapter 8AV: Sudan" by Siddig, Khalid Abstract chapter provides guidelines on the data used to produce the Input/Output Table (IOT) for the Sudan including their sources, processing and correspondence to the standard GTAP data structure. The IOT, which is submitted to the GTAP Database version 10, is the first for the Sudan after the separation of the former Sudan into “the Sudan” and “South Sudan” in 2011. The IOT is developed based on the most recently published Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) for the Sudan (Siddig et al., 2016). The submitted IOT for the Sudan provides data on 37 sectors, 12 of them are agricultural covering crops, livestock, forestry and fishing. In addition, the IOT includes three mining, nine manufacturing, three utilities and ten service sectors. The data reported in the IOT depicts the Sudanese economy in 2012 and it is in billions of Sudanese Pounds (SDG). |
