"Mainstreaming of GTAP BIO database construction and standardized model code" Authors: Taheripour, Farzad, Uris Lantz Baldos, Erwin Corong, Angel Aguiar, Maksym Chepeliev and Thiago Simonato Abstract The GTAPBIO database and model have been used in several important studies regarding the economic outcomes as well as land use change impacts and associated carbon emissions from US biofuels policies and from alternative sustainable aviation fuel pathways.To improve the transparency and replicability of the GTAPBIO database, initial efforts have been made to mainstream its build process as part of the GTAP satellite databases. Combining existing database pipelines and scripts into a single workflow can help improve the timeliness of database release, provide better documentation and facilitate database improvements. This documentation outlines a preliminary workflow for creating an initial input to the GTAPBIO build process –an updated GTAP database which contains additional crops, vegetable oils, food and feed, electricity and power sectors. Note that this is an ongoing effort and revisions in the workflow and documentation are likely. |
