"Trade Liberalization, China's Accession to the WTO, and the Competitiveness of Asian Economies"
by Tsutsumi, Masahiko

Abstract
This paper examines the economic consequences of two events, i.e. regional integration by its combination, and China's entrance into the WTO, using a computable general equilibrium model.
The main findings are as follows:
1. Consequences of regional trade liberalization highly depend on the changes in relative intensity of endowments.
2. China's accession to the WTO alone has a strong substitution effect. However, counter liberalization by other Asian economies, i.e. APEC schedule or AFTA brings them into win-win situation.
