Biography
Dr. Acar received his BA in Economics from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey (1986). He worked at State Institute of Statistics (1986-87) and Isbank Economic Research Department (1987-93).

He later joined Purdue University (1994) where he received his Masters (1996) and PhD (2000) in Economics. During his stay at Purdue, he worked at the Center for Global Trade Analysis and was involved in data base development and distance learning projects.

He taught undergraduate courses, assisted to teaching graduate courses and he served as instructor in preparatory courses and short courses organized by the GTAP center.

He was involved in teaching and research at Kirikkale University (Turkey), Department of Economics between 2000-2011. He also served as the Department Chair (2008-2010) and the Dean of the School of Economics and Administrative Sciences (2010-2011). He served as the Rector of Aksaray University, Aksaray, Turkey between 2011-2015. He is currently working at N. Erbakan University, Department of Economics, Konya, Turkey.

His research interests include international trade and development, agricultural policy analysis, regional economic integration, and general equilibrium analysis. He has published several books in a wide range of areas including agriculture, market and state intervention, current economic debates, globalization, and the EU. His articles has been published in various national as well as international refereed journals. He also translated several books by various authors including Karl R. Popper, Murray Rothbard, Russell D. Roberts, Mark Skousen, Johan Norberg, Grace Halsell, and Burton A. Abrams.
