GTAP Data Bases: Sectors, Mapping and Concordances

The GTAP Data Base currently includes 65 sectors. Contributed tables should use the GSC3, or an aggregation thereof, subject to the following conditions:

the classification is an aggregation of the GSC2,
the classification is a disaggregation of the mandatory splits classification,
the classification distinguishes at least 30 sectors.

One of the main tasks in preparing a GTAP I-O table is mapping the data to the GTAP sectoral classification (GSC). To do that, you need to construct a concordance or mapping between the sectoral classification used in your source data and the GSC.

Concordances to assist in mapping your data to the GTAP sectors are available in the GTAP Technical Paper and here. Concordances are for GSC to ISC and GSC to CPC.
