Washington, DC 20433 United States http://www.worldbank.org/ eianchovichina@worldbank.org 202-458-8910 (ph) Biography Curriculum Vitae - Elena Ianchovichina Elena Ianchovichina is a lead economist and head of research and analytics in the World Bank's Jobs Cross-cutting Solutions Group. Prior to that she was the deputy chief economist and lead economist for the World Bank's Latin America and the Caribbean and Middle East and North Africa regions. Elena has also worked as a senior economist in the World Bank’s economic policy and debt department and as a young professional in the World Bank's East Asia and Pacific region and the World Bank’s research department. Prior to joining the World Bank, Elena was assistant professor in international trade at Kansas State University. An author of more than 100 publications, Elena has published her work in top development economics journals and has been cited in many academic journals as well as in leading newspapers and other media outlets. In 2008, she received Purdue University’s Apex Award for outstanding contributions to quantitative economic analysis and in 2022 Purdue University named her a Distinguished Woman Scholar. Ianchovichina is a native of Bulgaria and has a PhD from Purdue University.
