Biography
Betina V. Dimaranan is a Senior Research Coordinator at the Markets, Trade and Institutions Division of the International Food Policy Research Institute. She currently serves as Project Manager of the African Growth and Development Policy (AGRODEP) Modeling Consortium. She has conducted research on trade policy issues (multilateral and regional trade agreements, WTO accession of China and Vietnam), impacts of biofuels policies, food and agricultural policies, and growth and economic development.

Until June 2007, she was a Research Economist and the Database Administrator at the Center for Global Trade Analysis. She managed the construction of the GTAP 5 and GTAP 6 Data Bases and edited the corresponding the volumes of GTAP Data Base documentation. Betina received a B.S. in Agribusiness from the University of the Philippines at Los Baños, an M.S. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University.
